Trojan Cross Country Kicks Off Season in Meade 

Heat, hills, and running! This does not sound like a promising combination, but the Trojan Cross Country Team was up to the task! On August 31st the Trojans traveled to Meade to kick off the 2023 season. At race time, it was a cool 96 degrees and it only seemed to get hotter! 

 

The 7th Grade girls put on a show with Kodie Nairn coming in first, followed by Aracely Rodriguez in 3rd and Joselyn Ocampo coming in 5th. The 8th Grade girls were led by Emelin Williamson in 4th place and Madison Jeske finishing 10th.

 

In the 7th Grade boys division Austin Seger led the team and finished 6th followed by Alexander Carrasco in 12th place. For the 8th Grade boys Chris Folger was the first runner across for Stanton County in 7th place with Andrew Onley coming in 14th. Dezi Catlett finished 26th, Carlos Ruiz in 32nd, Keaten Krier in 33rd, and Seth Ehrlich rounding out the team in 34th.

 

The Trojan Women only came with three runners, but a strong showing was made. Senior, Madison Seyb, was the top runner for Stanton County finishing in 8th place. Kenzington Nairn was not far behind in 12th place and Lexi Martinez came in 32nd.

 

For the men’s division, Stanton County entered thirteen runners. Sophomore, David Crane, led the Trojans with a 5th place finish. Brandon Robles, Carter Seyb, and Corey Wilson filled the 13th, 14th, and 15th places. Edwin Molina followed in 25th with Jair Martinez close on his heels in 26th. Calan Sims came in 32nd; Luis Ocampo, 43rd; Nash Tools, 49th; Jonathan Ayala, 51st; Landry Waldron, 65th; Jaydon Edgar, 73rd; and Julio Ruiz, 74th.

 

The Trojan Men came in 2nd as a team with a total of 71 points. Congratulations Trojans!
