March 27. 2020 Update from Mr. Horn

Posted Date: 03/28/2020

Greetings Stanton County residents. By now, all of you should have been contacted by your child’s school. The teachers and staff have been working hard to get ready for virtual school, which will begin Monday. Yesterday both buildings passed out Chromebooks and your child’s personal items. If you were unable to pick up those items, please contact the school immediately to arrange to get them. If you are, still in need of getting internet or Wi-Fi service in your home please contact Pioneer Communications or the school office so they can assist you with this. Mrs. Jones posted on the Stanton County Elementary School Facebook page two how to videos to assist you with the learning platforms that will be used in that building. There was also some basic Chromebook usage information as well. I encourage you to watch those if you want to learn more about the technology that will be used through this process. I have heard that many students have already been in contact with their teachers. Please log in today and access your teacher’s classroom page for updated information so you are prepared for Monday. I know all of your teachers are ready to get started, and miss seeing their students. I’m sure they would love hearing from you. I want to remind you that the school buildings and facilities are closed. However, the superintendent’s office and both school offices will be open for phone calls from 8:30-11:30 am Monday through Friday. USD #452 is making every attempt to keep all citizens of Stanton County safe. That is why we have adopted a virtual learning plan. We want to limit the number of people that enter our buildings. So all of our teachers and the majority of our staff will be working from home when possible. We continue to serve more students lunch and breakfast every day. If you have not signed up to participate and would like to do so, please contact your school. If you would like to receive the balance of your child's lunch account instead of leaving it in the account for next year, please contact your school office by April 3rd. Everyone at USD #452 wants to thank Pioneer Communications, the Stanton County Public Library and anyone else who has helped us during this difficult time. We appreciate your support as we go down this challenging path in education.

Sincerely,

Trenton Horn

Superintendent
